Install Ledger Live on desktop or mobile to manage accounts, install apps and transact. Ledger Live guides you through pairing and device initialization.
Choose Set up as new, create a PIN on-device and carefully write down the generated recovery phrase (24 words) on the provided sheet.
Confirm selected words when prompted to ensure your backup is correct. Never store the phrase digitally or share it with anyone — Ledger will never ask for it.
Use Ledger Live Manager to install blockchain apps (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). Add accounts to see balances and generate receive addresses while private keys remain on-device.
Always verify the recipient address and transaction details on your Ledger device screen before approving to protect against malware on your computer or phone.
If your device is lost or damaged, restore your accounts on a compatible device using the recovery phrase. For connection issues try another cable/port, reboot, or reinstall Ledger Live. Persistent problems should be directed to official Ledger Support.
